a little bit about me
My love of Sugarcraft took me by surprise in 2009 when I was invited by an inspirational lady to join a local Church group to make a seasonal fruit cake, decorated with Christmas roses. I immediately loved the creativity of crafting beautiful flowers and so began a journey of exploring lots of ideas and techniques, which I still love doing today.
Sugar Designs was established after I graduated in 2014 - I then had to learn to bake (the family loved that phase!). Throughout my years at uni I continued to develop my sugarcraft skills and was fortunate to have some fabulous, generous cake tutors. I started entering competitions and winning awards at international level and I am proud to have won Gold, Silver and Bronze awards with the prestigious Cake International group. I was also a Regional finalist in 2017 for the Wedding Industry Awards and Shortlisted in 2018 for The Four Counties wedding awards and as these are voted by my couples I am especially thrilled to receive this recognition.
I am happiest when being creative in my bespoke studio, pictured here - creating new designs or experimenting with flavours. I accept only a limited numbers of orders each week to ensure that the attention to detail and taste of your cake completely meets your expectations as I am honoured to be chosen by my clients to be part of your special day and wedding journey.
